Duo pembalap tim San Carlo Honda Gresini, Marco Melandri dan Marco Simoncelli, belum menemukan sentuhan yang baik pada motor nya hingga akhir tes pra musim di Qatar beberapa hari lalu, padahal musim balap MotoGP sudah semakin dekat.
Melandri merasa frustrasi karena tidak mampu mencapai hasil dan feeling yang baik pada mesin RC212V. Selain itu, kecelakaan yang dialaminya membuat sisi kiri motornya hancur. Beruntung dirinya dapat lolos dari cengkraman cidera akibat kecelakaan tersebut. Kendati demikian, Melandri bertekad untuk meraih posisi terbaik saat musim balapan pertama dimulai di sirkuit Losail, Qatar pada 11 April mendatang.
“Saya sedikit kecewa karena meski sudah mencoba melakukan semua hal, tapi semua itu tidak membantu kami untuk menemukan cara yang tepat dan benar,†jelas Melandri. “Tak ada perubahan dari hasil yang telah dikerjakan dan pekerjaan kami jadi sia-sia. Sebuah kecelakan menjadikan hal rumit dengan motor yang nyaris hancur. Saya kira ini bukan hanya masalah kami semata, karena saya melihat hampir semua pembalap Honda memiliki hal serupa dengan kami.â€
