Namanya dikenal sebagai pembalap Suzuki ditahun 1946 yang berlanjut menjadi bagian tim riset balap motor Suzuki di tahun 1963 dan juga sebagai tokoh dibelakang suksesnya prestasi balap motor Indonesia.
Hasil riset nya berhasil membawa Suzuki Shogun dan Smash menjadi momok yang menakutkan bagi lawannya di balapan Indoprix. Bersama Tim Suzuki TOP1 BRT SHC FDR Chia Felix. Selain itu, Om Chia juga pernah menyabet gelar Juara Asia pada 2008 silam bersama pembalapnya Owie Nurhuda.
Karena kanker tulang yang dideritanya, Om Chia tak kuasa menahan sakit itu lebih lama. Menurut rencana, jenazah Om Chia akan diterbangkan ke Jakarta pada kamis pagi dan akan desemayamkan dirumah duka Kwitang dan akan dimakamkan pada Minggu pagi di pemakaman Sandiego Hill, Kerawang Barat.
