Berawal dari segelintir pemuda pecinta motor sport Yamaha V-Ixion yang bertemu di dunia maya, Yamaha V-Ixion Club Bali Indonesia (YVC BI) pun akhirnya terbentuk.
Adalah Muhammad Syarif Hidayatullah, I Gusti Ngurah Manik dan Dani. Ketiga orang ini bertemu dalam satu situs pertemanan Friendster karena satu keinginan, memperluas persaudaraan sesama biker di Bali yang kebetulan pula sama-sama pecinta motor Yamaha V-Ixion.
“Awalnya kami bertemu di Friendster karena sama-sama pengguna Yamaha V-Ixion. Akhirnya kami bertiga mengatur waktu untuk bertemu dan sepakat untuk membentuk sebuah komunitas motor V-Ixion,” papar Muhammad Syarif Hidayatullah selaku ketua harian YVC BI saat bertemu di Pantai Tanjung Benoa, Bali.
Berdiri sejak 31 November 2008 silam, Yamaha V-Ixion Club  Bali Indonesia (YVC BI) kini telah beranggotakan sekitar 80 orang.
Lahir dengan membawa visi dan misi untuk membantu pihak kepolisian khususnya Bali guna mengkampanyekan gerakan Safety Riding, YVC BI coba menerapkan sangsi kepada seluruh anggotanya jika terbukti melanggar peraturan lalulintas.
“Korban akibat trek-trekan di Bali sudah sangat banyak, karena itu kami coba membantu pihak kepolian untuk meminimalkan trek-trekan tersebut. Salah satunya dengan menggalakkan gerakan Safety Riding yang dimulai dari dalam komunitas YVC BI sendiri,” papar Muhammad Syarif Hidayatullah yang akrab disapa Jojon.
“Sesuai dengan tujuan terbentuknya YVC BI, maka setiap anggota yang melanggar peraturan lalulintas akan kena sangsi hukuman fisik. Hukuman fisik bukan berarti di hajar atau di tampar, tapi disuruh push up atau gerakan olah raga lainnya yang menuntut mengeluarkan energi. Selain agar tidak terjadi sakit hati, hukuman ini juga bikin badan jadi sehat,” tambah Jojon.
Selain hukuman karena kedapatan melanggar lalulintas, ketidak lengkapan perlengkapan riding pun menjadi faktor utama terkena sangsi tersebut. Seperti tidak menggunakan sarung tangan, sepatu, jaket dan helm yang sudah memenuhi standar keselamatan.
Bahkan, seluruh anggota YVC BI juga dilarang menggunakan knalpot racing. Nyoman Yusa selaku sekretaris YVC BI mengatakan, “Seluruh anggota YVC BI diwajibkan menggunakan knalpot standar sebagai dukungan YVC BI kepada peraturan Undang-Undang Lalulintas,” jelas lelaki yang biasa disapa Yusa.
Layaknya sebuah organisasi, urusan administrasi menjadi bagian penting untuk setiap aktivitas YVC BI. Setiap anggota diwajibkan membayar iuran sebesar Rp 10.000 perbulan. Uang ini akan digunakan untuk segala kebutuhan YVC BI.
Selain dari iuran bulanan, YVC BI juga mendapat dukungan penuh dari dealer resmi Yamaha Bali. “Setiap akan melakukan acara besar, kami selalu mendapat dukungan penuh dari PT Semangat Catur Merta yang juga dealer resmi Yamaha di Jl Sunset Road, Krobogan, Bali,” kata Jojon.
Jojon menambahkan, “Kebetulan Pak Chandra selaku penasihat YVC BI merupakan petinggi PT Semangat Catur Merta, jadi kita sering dimudahkan dan dibantu untuk urusan financial YVC BI,” pungkas Jojon.
