First Ride Yamaha Byson : Naiknya Harus Sombong

GilaMotor, BOGOR.- Setelah beberapa waktu belakangan menjadi bahan perbincangan, akhirnya PT. Yamaha Motor Kencana Indonesia (YMKI) menunjukkan sosok Byson ke hadapan para jurnalis, blogger dan komunitas pengguna Yamaha di karting sircuit atau yang lebih dikenal dengan sentul kecil (19/8).

Motor yang dijuluki Yamaha sebagai The Lord of The Street ini memang memancarkan aura sangar. Wajar jika Yamaha memproyeksikan motor ini bagi kaum muda yang ingin tampil beda dan penuh gaya.

Dengan stang lebar, tangki yang gambot dan berotot berpadu dengan ekor yang meruncing dan sedikit nungging, kian menguatkan aura motor sport bergaya street fighter ini.

“Pokoknya kalau ngetest Byson nanti jangan seperti naik motor sport ala Rossi, naiknya harus bergaya dan sombong. Karena motor ini memang didisain untuk mereka yang berjiwa muda dan ingin tampil beda,” ungkap Muhamad Abidin selaku Manager Technical Support PT YMKI disela-sela test ride Byson.

Lantas bagaimana riding impression motor bermesin 153 cc yang mesinnya mengambil basis dari Yamaha Vixion ini?

Sebelum melintasi sirkuit sentul kecil, YMKI meberikan sedikit gangguan yang menggambarkan kondisi jalan di Jakarta. Tiga gundukan dari kayu setinggi lebih kurang 25 cm dihidangkan untuk merasakan kenerja suspensinya.

Dengan fork depan berdiameter 41 mm dan suspensi mono shock yang dapat diatur tingkat kekerasannya, mampu memberikan kenyamanan maksimal. Lepas dari gundukan  kayu, barisan cone untuk slalom sudah siap untuk menjajal kestabilan handling Byson.

Bicara masalah performa, tak banyak yang bisa dibicarakan untuk mengetahui berapa kecepatan maksimal lari Byson ini. Hal ini dikarenakan ketebatasannya trek lurus yang panjang untuk memutar tuas gas dan memindahkan gear ke posisi lebih tinggi.

Dari pantauan yang muncul di speedo meternya, gigi satu mampu menembus angka 45 km/jam dan gigi duanya bisa lebih dari 60 km/jam. Sayangnya belum selesai speedo meter bekerja membaca kecepatan lari Byson pada gigi dua, tikungan sudah menghadang.

Minimnya ketersedian trek lurus yang memadai, dari dua putaran yang diberikan kecepatan tertinggi hanya mampu mencapai 82 km/jam pada gigi tiga sebelum akhirnya harus memperlambat laju motor untuk melintasi tikungan. Kendati sesungguhnya Byson masih bisa diajak berlari lebih kencang lagi pada gigi tiganya.

Perpindahan gear nya terasa halus dan gap saat perpindahan giginya terasa cukup kecil sehingga terasa lebih responsif.

Berkat dukungan suspensi teleskopik yang boleh dikatakan paling besar dikelasnya yakni berdiameter 41 mm, dan suspensi mono shock yang dapat diatur tingkat kekerasannya, Byson cukup stabil melahap tikungan demi tikungan.

Selain itu, berkat dukungan ban tubeless 100/80-17M/C 52P depan dan 120/70-17M/C 58P belakang mampu memberikan keyakinan lebih tinggi saat menikung sidikit merebah.

Bahkan akibat kestabilannya yang membuat keyakinan menikung rebah menjadi lebih tinggi, tak jarang pijakan kaki menempel pada aspal hingga terdengar suara aspal tegerus besi.

Penasaran dengan pengendaraan malam hari, usai melakukan buka puasa bersama, GilaMotor.com mencoba lintasan sirkuit sentul kecil dalam keadaan gelap.

Pencahayaan yang dihasilkan dari head lamp yang telah mengaplikasi multi reflector, mampu memberikan pencahayaan yang baik. Termasuk pencahayaan pada digital lcd combination meternya sehingga mudah terbaca dalam kondisi minim cahaya sekalipun.

Secara keseluruhan, motor ini layak dijadikan pilihan utama bagi pecinta motor sport dikelas 150 cc yang ingin tampil lebih gaya.
