GILAMOTOR.com, Jakarta. – Jumlah polulasi sepeda motor di Indonesia kini diperkirakan telah mencapai angka 50 juta unit di seluruh nusantara. Angka ini bergerak fantastis sejak lima tahun belakangan.
Selain pertumbungan ekonomi masyarakat yang terus membaik dengan ditandai angka pendapatan per kapita yang mencapai US$ 3000 atau sekitar Rp 27 juta per tahun. Membuat para pabrikan pun berani meningkatkan target penjualan setiap tahunnya.
Selain itu, peningkatan penjualan motor ini juga diperkirakan adanya pergeseran trend pengguna sepeda motor. Jika dahulu hanya orang yang lebih mapan dan orang tua yang lebih sering lalu lalang dengan motor, kini anak usia belasan dan bahkan belum genap 17 tahun, sudah berani menunggangi motor.
Paulus S Firmanto dari YMKI yang menjadi pembicara dalam acara peluncuran dan diskusi buku “Hiruk Pikuk Pengendara Motor†karya Edo Rusyanto di Jakarta (12/1) menuturkan, banyak masyarakat yang berpikir lebih baik punya motor lebih dulu, urusan skill dan SIM itu bisa menyusul.
“Usia pengguna motor kini sudah bergeser dibanding beberapa tahun lalu. Kini di jalan-jalan komplek perumahan, banyak dijumpai anak kecil yang sudah berani mengendarai motor,†kata Paulus.
Kondisi ini disinyalir juga sebagai pendongkrak angka penjualan sepeda motor tanah air.
Paulus menambahkan, “Pertumbuhan penjualan ini merupakan hal yang positif, tapi disisi lain menimbulkan masalah sendiri, seperti macet dan kecelakaan. Hal ini diperparah oleh pengendara motor yang baru sadar akan pentingnya keselamatan berkendara setelah mengalami kecelakaan,†tambahnya.
Menurut Bambang Susanto, Wakil Menteri Perhubungan yang juga menjadi pembicara, hal-hal yang tak bisa dilakukan dengan mobil atau untuk mencari pilihan transportasi yang lebih simple, membuat sepeda motor menjadi sangat diminati. Bahkan bagi mereka yang telah mempunyai mobil.
“Dari data yang ada, sekitar 84 persen pengguna atau pemilik mobil juga memiliki motor,†kata nya.
Dalam bukunya, Edo Rusyanto mengatakan, ketika moda transportasi masal tak lagi memadai dari segi keterjangkauan ekonomi, akses, maupun rasa nyaman dan aman, masyarakat harus kreatif dan pilihan utamanya adalah motor.
Alat transportasi roda dua ini ideal untuk sehari-hari terlebih jarak pendek yang tak lebih dari 100 kilometer. Ditengah kota-kota besar yang padat dan macet, sepeda motor menjadi primadona.
Disisi lain, akses pembiayaan untuk pembelian sepeda motor kian mudah. Perusahaan lembaga pembiayaan berlomba-lomba menggarap bisnis sepeda motor yang terbilang legit. Dari kemudahan yang diberikan perusahaan pembiayaan atau leasing, calon pembeli cukup menyerahkan uang muka sebesar Rp 500 ribu dan motor anyar pun siap diantar ke rumah.
Tak aneh jika populasi motor terus meningkat dalam lima tahun terakhir. pertumbuhanya sendiri mencapai 20 persen per tahun.
