Motor Berbasis Hayabusa Tembus 502 km per Jam

GILAMOTOR.com. – Ketika Suzuki meluncurkan sportbike GSX1300R Hayabusa lebih dari satu dekade lalu, Hayabusa dinobatkan sebagai motor produksi tercepat di dunia dengan kecepatan puncak mencapai 188 – 194 mil/jam atau 303 – 312 km/jam.

Bagi kita kecepatan itu jelas lebih dari cukup, tapi tidak untuk Bill Warner.

Seperti di lansir autoevolution, Minggu (24/7), Warner menjadi orang pertama yang melampaui kecepatan 300 mil/jam atau 483 km/jam dengan sepeda motor. Kecepatan yang diraih Warner mencapai angka 311.94 mil/jam atau 502 km/jam dalam jarak tempuh 1.5 mil.

Mesin motor tunggangan Warner dari basis mesin Hayabusa ini dibekali sebuah turbocharged dengan bahan bakar methanol untuk menghasilkan luaran tenaga mencapai 1,000 tenaga kuda. Dengan hasil ini, Warner mematahkan rekor kecepatan sebelumnya yakni 448 km/jam.

“Kami ingin memastikan bahwa kami memiliki kekuatan yang cukup untuk potensi luaran tenaga dan kekuatan sentrifugal yang dikembangkan pada kecepatan yang sangat luar biasa. Terimakasih kepada tester, Bill,” tutur Brock, Performance President Brock Davidson.
