GILAMOTOR.com, Jakarta. – Tingginya permintaan unit motor sport 150 cc Yamaha Byson, membuat antrian pemesan semakin panjang. Tak heran di beberapa dealer Yamaha, konsumen harus menunggu kiriman unitnya ke rumah hingga 3 – 4 bulan. Tapi ada juga beberapa konsumen yang cukup menunggu selama dua bulan saja.
Menanggapi hal ini, PT Yamaha Motor Kencana Indonesia (YMKI) berencana menambah kapasitas produksi motor sport yang dijuluki sebagai the lord of the street ini.
“Rencananya tahun depan kita akan menaikkan kapasitas produksi Byson lebih dari dua kali lipatnya,†tutur Eko Prabowo, GM Marketing and Motor Sport Division di sela-sela pengundian Milyarder Yamaha tahap 3 pada Sabtu (9/7) kemarin di Jakarta.
Menurut Eko, hal ini dilakukan untuk memenuhi permintaan motor Byson yang cukup tinggi. “Awalnya kami tak menyangka kalau peminat motor sport bergaya street fighter ini akan setinggi ini. Untuk itu, kami minta maaf atas antrian pesanan yang cukup panjang dan lama,†katanya.
Lebih jauh Eko menjelaskan, saat ini kapasitas produksi Yamaha Byson mencapai angka 4 ribu unit perbulan. Paling lambat awal tahun 2012 mendatang, kapasitas produksinya akan ditambah menjadi dua kali lipat. “Kami sedang mempersiapkan jalur produksi untuk menambah kapasitasnya dari 4 ribu unit menjadi 10 ribu sampai 15 ribu unit per bulan. Hal ini untuk memenuhi permintaan konsumen Yamaha dan memangkas masa inden nya,†tegasnya.
