Yamaha Riding Academy II : Tumbuhkan Ego dan Enjoy Aja

GILAMOTOR.com, Bogor. – Setelah Yamaha Riding Academy (YRA) gelombang I terselenggara dengan membawa 18 calon pebalap muda dari region I Sumatera dan Region II Jawa, YRA gelombang II kembali digelar di sirkuit Sentul, Bogor, Jawa Barat (13/7) bagi 20 pebalap Region Kalimantan, Sulawesi, Bali/Lombok dan Sumatera.

Dalam pelatihan yang terbilang singkat, para calon pebalap muda ini digembleng untuk membentuk mental petarung yang kuat dan komitmen serta attitude mereka.

“Yang utama adalah membentuk mental, komitmen dan attitude mereka sebagai calon pebalap,” tutur Ari Wibisono, Motorsport Manager PT Yamaha Motor Kencana Indonesia.

Selain itu, Ari juga menerangkan bahwa ego mereka juga sangat penting dibentuk. Karena, menurut Ari, ego untuk menang merupakan salah satu faktor pendukung para pebalap menjadi juara.

“Setelah latihan teori, fisik dan praktek, mereka akan diadu satu sama lain di lintasan. Di situ akan terlihat ego mereka untuk tampil sebagai yang terbaik.”

“Ego untuk menang itu harus kami tumbuhkan dalam jiwa mereka dan itu munculnya dari diri mereka sendiri. Tapi bukan egois, karena mereka semua adalah tim jadi mereka harus bekerja sama. Kalau egois berarti mereka ingin menang sendiri dan itu akan berakibat buruk, baik bagi dirinya maupun tim,” terang Ari.

Ari menjelaskan, dalam latihan setiap pebalap diberikan kebebasa dan menikmati setiap motor dan lintasan yang dicoba. Tapi, kata Ari, mereka juga diberi target dan harus memenuhi target yang diberikan.

“Mereka latihan di sini enjoy sajalah, mengenal karakter motor, riding style, racing line, braking point dan cornering. Tapi bukan berarti bisa semau mereka, karena ada target dan peningkatan yang harus mereka capai.”

Lebih jauh Ari menjelaskan, saat ini memang sangat mudah menjadi pebalap. Tapi yang sulit adalah mengubah pola dan kebiasaan para calon pebalap itu, kususnya riding style, tingkah laku serta adaptasi pada motor dan sirkuit baru yang terbilang lambat.

“Mereka sudah terbentuk dari balap motor bebek, jadi harus penuh kesabaran dan kedisiplinan untuk mengubah pola itu. Karena itu tim yang terlibat harus turun tangan secara penuh dan mengawasi mereka di setiap tikungan.”

Senada dengan Ari, Hokky Krisdianto dan Donny Tata selaku instruktur YRA juga menjelaskan bahwa kebiasaan mereka balapan dengan motor bebek masih perlu diubah. Selain itu, memberikan pemahaman tentang riding style, cornering dan racing line menjadi pekerjaan yang paling berat.

“Saat ditanya, kadang ada beberapa yang mengatakan “jelas”, tapi saat prakteknya meleset dari harapan. Jadi kami harus fokus dan tegas mengarahkan mereka,” tegas Hokky.

Pada latihan YRA hari ini, para calon pebalap berusia 14 sampai 18 tahun ini berlatih dengan motor Yamaha V-Ixion dan Yamaha R6 sejak pagi hingga sore.
