Rossi : 1000cc Lebih Baik Dari 800cc

GILAMOTOR.com. – Usai balapan penutup musim 2011 di Sirkuit Ricardo Tormo, Valencia akhir pekan lalu, tim-tim balap MotoGP mulai melakukan tes motor 1000cc untuk musim 2012 mendatang.

Valentino Rossi yang telah melakukan tes hari pertama Ducati 1000cc yang telah mengaplikasi frame twin-spar alumunium pada Selasa (9/11), mengaku cukup senang karena motor barunya dirasa lebih baik dari Ducati 800cc.

“Motor ini lebih baik dikendarai dari 800cc, bahkan di permulaan pekerjaan kita,” cetus Rossi.

Pebalap asal Italia itu juga mengatakan bahwa ada peningkatan yang lebih baik di beberapa sektor Ducati 1000cc nya. Bahkan dia juga merasa bahwa Ducati kini terasa seperti motor-motor lainnya dan itulah yang dia harapkan.

“Kami tahu kami sedang melakukan pekerjaan persiapan untuk motor yang akan kami gunakan dalam tes musim dingin 2012 yang sangat penting. Mesin tampaknya sudah cukup baik, mesinnya cepat, meskipun saya tak pernah benar-benar menemukan sendiri perbandingan langsung dengan yang lain.”

“Di sisi lain, aku sedikit lebih lambat di pertengahan tikungan dan kami juga harus mencoba untuk meningkatkan grip belakang, karena untuk saat ini kami tak bisa mendapatkan tenaga dan mengambil keuntungan penuh dari itu. Tapi untuk tes pertama itu tidak buruk.”

Rossi meyakini bahwa penggunaan frame konvensional akan memungkinkan jangkauan peningkatan yang lebih baik selama tes.

“Yang benar-benar penting adalah kami dapat bekerja lebih bebas, mengubah keseimbangan motor, distribusi berat, pengukuran dan apapun yang kami butuhkan saat kami mempersiapkan pekerjaan untuk tiga bulan ke depan yang sangat penting,” terang Rossi.

Sayangnya, rekan satu tim Rossi, Nicky Hayden, tak bisa mengikuti sesi tes karena cidera di pergelangan tangan akibat kecelakaan saat balapan minggu lalu.
