GILAMOTOR.com. – Jeffrey Polnaja kini telah siap memulai perjalanan keliling dunia seorang diri dengan motor BMW R1150GS Adventure.
Lelaki kelahiran Bandung 1962 itu sejak 27 April lalu telah berada di Paris, Perancis setelah melakukan penerbangan dari Jakarta.
“Saya tiba di Paris dalam kondisi stamina yang prima dan siap memulai penjelajahan,” ujar pria yang akrab dipanggil Kang JJ itu. Ditambahkannya, pendaratan di Paris bertujuan untuk penyesuaian cuaca (klimatisasi) sekaligus pengetesan R1150GS sebelum menghadapi medan penjelajahan yang sesungguhnya. Suhu udara di Paris sendiri kini berada pada kisaran cukup lembab, yaitu 8 derajat selsius.
Pada Selasa (1/2) kemarin, Jeffey melaporkan telah melakukan pengetesan pertama R1150GS sejauh 400 kilometer menuju Moerbeke, Belgia. Ini merupakan pertemuan pertama Jeffrey dengan sepeda motornya setelah 3 tahun terpisah.
R1150GS merupakan sepeda motor yang dipakai Kang JJ untuk menaklukan misi Ride for Peace pertama dengan mendatangi 72 negara pada 2006 hingga 2008. Sejak finish di Jerman pada 2008, sepeda motor yang telah menjadi kawan sejatinya tersebut dititipkan kepada sahabat-sahabat nya yang tergabung dalam BMW Motor Club Vlaanderen, di Belgia.
“Saya melakukan pengetesan jalan sekitar 400 km. Saya ingin memastikan bahwa motor ini secara teknis siap menemani penjelajahan keliling dunia kedua yang tak kalah menantang dari misi pertama Ride for Peace. Sejauh ini kondisi sepeda motor dalam keadaan kuat, dan saya bisa menyatu dengannya,” ucap Jeffrey.
Selama berada di Belgia, R1150GS produksi 2005 itu telah menerima beberapa modifikasi dan perkuatan dari tim Vlaanderen.
Dalam pengetesan itu, Jeffrey melintasi kota Brussel, Gent dan Brugge. Di tengah tekanan cuaca yang masih cukup dingin, Jeffrey berkendara dalam kecepatan maksimum 160 km/jam atau disesuaikan dengan batas kecepatan yang diizinkan di sebuah wilayah negara.
Dalam beberapa hari kedepan Jeffrey juga akan melakuan pengetesan perjalanan di Autobahn, Jerman, dimana tidak terdapat ketentuan batas kecepatan laju kendaraan.
Pada perjalanan ini, motornya masih menggunakan plat nomor polisi Bandung “D 5010 JJ” (bermakna “Solo JJ”), mengemban misi “Ride for Peace – Solo Riding Exploring Five Continents on Two Wheels.”
Jeffrey akan berkelana sejauh 220.000 kilometer melintasi beberapa negara di Eropa, Amerika Utara, Amerika Tengah, Amerika Selatan dan Australia.
Penjelajahan kedua ini tak kalah menantang dari misi pertama, dimana dia melintasi negara-negara di Asia, Afrika, danTimur Tengah.
Tak kurang dari 30 negara akan disinggahi, mulai dari Perancis, Belgia, Belanda, Jerman, Skandinavia, Polandia, Rusia, Korea Selatan, Jepang, Kanada, AmerikaSerikat, Meksiko, Kuba, Kolombia, Nikaragua, Bolivia, Brasil, Argentina, Peru, Selandia Baru, Australia, dan Timor Leste. Jeffrey direncanakan tiba kembali di Jakarta pada tahun 2014.
