GILAMOTOR.com. Astana, Khazakstan – Tekad kuat Jeffrey Polnaja kembali dihadapkan pada tantangan berat. Kini pria asal Bandung, Jawa Barat, yang akrab disapa Kang JJ itu masih tertahan di kota Astana. Hasil pemeriksaan dokter di Rumah Sakit Repubican Research and Center Emergency Medical Care di kota tersebut menyatakan, Jeffrey harus menjalani proses penyembuhan kaki sekurangnya selama satu bulan.
“Kecelakaan itu sulit dihindari. Saya sudah melakukan antisipasi yang maksimal, namun seperti inilah kondisi yang saya terima. Tulang tumit kaki kiri saya retak, dan membengkak, sehingga membuat saya sekarang tidak bisa berjalan tanpa dua tongkat penyangga,” kata Jeffrey.
Jeffrey menceritakan, kecelakaan dialami dirinya pada pukul 15:00, tepatnya selepas kota Marinovka yang berjarak 201 Km dari Astana. Saat itu Jeffrey sedang melaju di lintasan jalan raya, di mana banyak truk besar berjalan beriringan. Namun bagi Jeffrey kondisi lalu lintas seperti itu bukanlah pemandangan baru.
Ketika ingin mendahului laju lima truk kontainer yang berjajar, secara tiba-tiba truk yang berada di urutan kedua dari depan memotong lajurnya. Truk ini bermaksud menyalip kendaraan di depannya, tanpa melihat kondisi di sisi jalan. Jeffrey yang kala itu sudah berada sepertiga di badan truk terdorong ke sisi kiri luar lintasan.
“Seketika ketika mengetahui posisi truk ini bergeser ke kiri saya mengambil keputusan untuk menghindar. Sayangnya, tak ada lagi sisi jalan yang tersedia buat saya. Saya memilih melompati tanggul, mendarat keras di permukaan tanah berbatu, dan menjatuhkan sepeda motor,” ungkapnya.
Malang bagi Jeffrey. Upaya antisipasinya ternyata tetap membuahkan resiko. Ketika menggelincirkan diri bersama BMW R1150GS, kaki kirinya tertimpa boks besar yang dibawanya. Rasa sakit langsung menjalar, meski Jeffrey berusaha menahannya.
Beruntung kelima truk yang sedang melaju tersebut berhenti. Para supir dan kernet truk keluar membantunya membangunkan sepeda motor. Beberapa ada yang memberikan pijatan ringan dan menuangkan air minum. Sementara supir ceroboh yang memotong lintasannya, berkali-kali memohon maaf. Rekan sesama pengemudi truk ini bahkan ikut menegur secara keras.
Usai beristirahat, Jeffrey yang telah merasakan sakit di kaki kirinya langsung mengambil keputusan melanjutkan perjalanan menuju Astana. Ironinya, rumah sakit terdekat yang mampu menangani luka serius berjarak lebih dari 200 Km dan berada di kota itu. Di tengah rasa sakit yang terus meningkat, Jeffrey menjelajah selama tiga setengah jam di atas permukaan jalan yang sebagian besar off-road.
“Sangat menyakitkan. Dengan tulang kaki retak saya harus melibas jalan off-road berbatu selama lebih dari tiga jam. Bantingan dan ayunan sepeda motor membuat rasa sakit di kaki tak terkirakan,” ujarnya. Rute off-road ini memang harus menjadi santapannya mengingat lintasan utama menuju Astana tengah menjalani konstruksi ulang.
Jeffrey akhirnya tiba di rumah sakit pada pukul 18:30. Dia langsung dibawa ke ruang gawat darurat untuk menjalani pemeriksaan intensif. Hasil pindai di rumah sakit menyatakan Jeffrey mengalami keretakan tulang tumit di kaki kiri yang serius. Kaki Jeffrey pun dibalut gips dan diharapkan tim dokter baru bisa dilepas kurang lebih selama satu bulan. Hebatnya, tak sepeser uang dikeluarkan Jeffrey untuk seluruh pengobatan tersebut. Pemerintah Khazakstan telah memberikan layanan kesehatan gratis kepada masyarakatnya, termasuk tamu asing seperti dirinya.
Bagi Jeffrey vonis dokter tentu memberatkan hatinya. Dia merasa jadwal perjalanan akan terganggu. Terlebih saat ini Jeffrey sedang dituntut mengejar waktu perjalanan agar terhindar dari cuaca buruk musim dingin ketika dirinya memasuki kawasan Siberia yang liar nanti.
“Beginilah tantangan seorang penjelajah. Saya memiliki rencana matang, namun nasib bisa berkata lain. Dokter meminta saya beristirahat selama satu bulan, dan mungkin ini harus saya turuti. Artinya, cuaca buruk di Siberia pasti lebih keras ketika saya melanjutkan perjalanan usai cidera ini pulih.”
