Ketua AISI: Pembatasan Jarak Tempuh, Tidak Mungkin Doong

GILAMOTOR.com. – Rencana pemerintah untuk menerbitkan peraturan tentang pembatasan jarak tempuh sepeda motor menuai protes dari kalangan pemotor. Pasalnya, selain bukan solusi yang tepat untuk menurunkan angka kecelakaan, juga akan merugikan pemotor.

Wacana peraturan ini diakibatkan karena tingginya angka kecelakaan saat musim mudik lebaran kemarin.

“Mereka yang bermotor menempuh jarak 600 km atau lebih, itukan karena terpaksa. Karena memang tak punya alternatif lainnya yang lebih cocok,” ucap Gunadi Sindhuwinata, Ketua Umum AISI (Asosiasi Industri Sepeda motor Indonesia).

Menurutnya, masalah tingginya kecelakaan sepeda motor dan banyaknya pemotor yang menempuh jarak lebih dari 500 km bukan inti permasalahannya, dan tak mungkin jarak tmpuh sepda motor dibatasi.

“Tidak mungkin dong.. Apa nya yang mau dibatasi, tangki bensinya.? Tetap saja setiap bensin habis mereka harus mengisi lagi, kan?” katanya.

“Masalahnya adalah bagaimana pemerintah menyediakan sarana transportasi yang memadai untuk menempuh jarak yang lebih jauh.”

“Peraturan lalu lintasnya kalau ditegakkan dan diterapkan secara benar itu sudah cukup. Kita harus berfikir secara rasional untuk menghadapi masalah-masalah yang sebetulnya problemnya ada pada infrastruktur dan pengaturan lalu lintas, bukan produknya yang bermasalah,” tagas Gunadi.
