Perombakan desain yang dilakukan Yamaha pada V-Ixion bukan cuma memengaruhi pada sektor tampangnya aja, akselerasi dan handling juga berubah. Pernyataan Yamaha tentang handling New V-Ixion jadi makin enteng dan ringan serta mantap untuk diajak cornering ternyata benar. Jawabannya didapat saat melintasi jalur perkotaan yang banyak nemuin persimpangan, lampu merah dan pasar saat melalui Jl Asia Afrika, Soekarno Hatta, Cibiru, Cicaheum, Cicadas, Laswi, Pelajar Pejuang, Tegalega, Cimahi dan berakhir di Cihideung. Jalur perkotaan ini otomatis membuat berkendara stop and go jadi santapan sepanjang perjalanan.

Jadi saat start dari lampu merah pasti bisa lari duluan dan belum sampai kecepatan penuh, sudah sampai lampu merah lagi,†kata Dyonisius Beti, Executive Vice President Director YIMM.
Entengnya akselerasi V-Ixion juga ditunjang dari perubahan gear balakang yang bertambah satu mata gear. Meski ban belakang membengkak jadi berukuran 120-17, tarikannya tetap enteng.
Bicara masalah handling dan cornering ability, Yamaha juga nggak bohong. V-Ixion baru ini gesit dan lincah banget diajak meliuk-liuk di antara antrian angkot dan mobil pribadi. Sangat ringan dikendalikan baik dengan counter steering maupun counter wight. Diajak nikung, V-Ixion juga mantep banget, stabil dan lincah berkat topangan ban yang lebih besar, 90/80-17 dan 120/70-17.
Selain itu, perubahan juga terjadi pada panjang rear arm yang bertambah 18mm dan pergeseran titik berat sebesar 1.7 persen yang bikin motor jadi lebih stabil. Serta jarak trail nya juga berubah dari 100mm menjadi 90 mm. Perubahan jarak trail nya jelas memengaruhi sudut rake nya yang berimbas pada kelincahan motor tersebut saat menikung. Ingat, semakin kecil sudut rake suatu motor, akan semakin lincah dan liar.
Mesin Responsif dan Galak Di Bawah Sampai Tengah, Sensornya Makin Banyak
Karakter mesin long stroke emang bikin motor lebih cepat berkaselerasi, manuver lebih gesit dan bikin tenaga dan torsi di putaran bawah cendrung lebih besar. Hal ini yang bikin V-Ixion jadi sangat responsive dan lincah saat bermanuver di padatnya jalan perkotaan.
