GILAMOTOR.com – Untuk pertama kalinya dua pembalap Indonesia mengikuti balapan bergengsi Suzuka 4-Hour Endurance Road Race Championship. Dan untuk kali pertama dalam sejarah balapan itu, bendera Indonesia berkibar di ajang Suzuka 4 hour Endurance Championship yang berlangsung sejak 26 Juli – 28 Juli kemarin.

Pembalap muda Indonesia yang baru pertama kali menginjakkan kakinya di kejuaraan ketahanan 4 jam Suzuka, Dimas Ekky Pratama dan Iswandi Muiz, membalap bersama tim Astra Honda Racing Team. Kedua pembalap muda ini berhsil menjadi juara pertama mengalahkan pesaing terdekatnya dari Malaysia dan Jepang.

Sejak latihan hingga kulaifikasi, tim Indonesia sudah bersaing ketat dengan pembalap dari tim Boon Siew Honda Racing Malaysia dengan dua pembalapnya S. Sasitharen dan Mohd Rozaiman Said. Di kualifikasi, tim Astra Honda Racing menempati P2 dan tim Malaysia di P6.

Di awal balapan, tim Malaysia jadi sangat cepat. Mereka melesat dan berhasil mengambil alih P3.

Di 16 lap pertama saat balapan berjalan, Dimas menyerahkan motornya kepada Iswandi untuk melanjutkan balapan dan Rozaiman mengambil alih motor dari tangan Sasitharen. Para pembalap Indonesia berhasil mempertahankan konsistensinya di posisi dua, sementara para pembalap Malaysia mulai ngedrop ke posisi empat.

Jalannya balapan cukup ketat dan banyak diwarnai insiden kecelakaan. Bahkan tim Indonesia sempat terganggu oleh jatuhnya Dimas Ekky. Beruntung Dimas dan Iswandi berhasil memanfaatkan momentum saat tim Club Plus One yang jadi pemimpin jalannya balapan kehabisan bahan bakar di beberapa menit menjelang finish.

Saat bendera finish di kibarkan, tim Astra Honda Racing Team berhasil menyelesaikan 96 lap dengan catatan waktu 4 jam, 1 menit, 27,165 detik. Diikuti tim Seishun MotoPod yang naik ke tempat kedua setelah menyelesaikan 96 lap dalam waktu 4 jam, 03 menit, 02,992 detik. Sementara tim Boon Siew Honda Racing Malaysia di posisi ketiga dengan 96 lap dalam waktu 4 jam, 3 menit, 50,977 detik.

Hasil ini menjadi langkah besar dalam karir dua pembalap Indonesia Iswandi Muiz dan Dimas Ekky.
