Ada Tuas Kecil Di Bawah Stang Motor Marquez, Apa Fungsinya?

Menurut Rossi, dulu Mick Doohan juga pakai mahluk macam itu. Tapi beda fungsi. Di motor Doohan, tuas itu difungsikan sebagai pengganti tuas rem balakang yang ada di kaki saat Doohan cedera kaki kanan yang tak memungkinkan dia menginjak tuas rem. Kalau sekarang, sepertinya tuas itu difungsikan sebagai pengganti tuas transmisi yang ada di kaki. Jadi ada saat tertentu kaki rider nggak perlu sibuk cungkal-cungkil dan dorong-dorong tuas transmisi saat masuk atau keluar tikungan yang bisa ganggu kestabilan. Tapi itu masih teori versi Rossi, belum ada paparan detil dari Honda tentang fungsi dan cara kerja tuas kecil yang diumpetin di bawah stang sebelah kiri itu.

Kalau dilihat dari fungsi di motor Doohan, bisa jadi itu juga difungsikan di motor Marquez karena gaya balap yang gelantungan itu. Apa lagi Marquez demen banget ‘rebahan’ sambil nempelin sikunya di aspal. Jadi saat kondisi seperti itu, kestabilan tak terganggu oleh gerakan kaki memainkan tuas transmisi atau rem, cukup tekan tuas itu saja.

Kembali lagi, kalau dilihat dari fungsi rem belakang saat balapan, rem belakang hampir tak pernah terpakai. Rem depan yang jadi andalan utama. Bisa jadi, tuas itu terhubung dengan gearbox RC213V. Sama seperti teknologi yang dual clutch transmission di moge Honda Integra, NC700S, NC700X, Crosstourer dan VFR1200F. Dengan dual clutch transmission, rider nggak perlu menekan atau mencongkel tuas transmisi, cukup tekan tombol yang ada di stang sebelah kiri. Tak banyak waktu terbuang, tak banyak jedah antara gigi satu dengan gigi selanjutnya. Lebih simple, lebih cepat.

Ahh, dari pada menerka-nerka, lebih baik tunggu jawaban Honda.
