Road Safety Day Bersama Michelin dan Polda Metro Jaya

GILAMOTOR.com – PT Michelin Indonesia bersama Polda Metro Jaya menggelar kampanye Road Safety Day di Lapangan Polda Metro Jaya akhir pekan kemarin.

Acara itu dihadiri oleh Kombes Pol Dr. Chryshnanda Dwilaksana, M.Si, Asisten Deputi Gubernur DKI Drs Umayadi dan Country Director PT Michelin Jean-Charles Simon, Direktur Keselamatan Transportasi Darat Kementerian Perhubungan, Kementrian Perhubungan, Hotma Simanjuntak, serta Sekjen Road Safety Association (RSA) Lucky Subiakto.

Serangkaian kegiatan mewarnai kampanye road safety ini yaitu, Program Fill Up with Air Michelin untuk motor; Lomba Mewarnai dan Menggambar untuk anak dengan tema Road Safety; Atraksi Polwan dengan Moge mengenai berkendara yang aman; Atraksi Polisi Cilik (Pocil); Atraksi BMX; serta Penampilan Band Alexa.

Dalam keterangan resminya, Country Director PT Michelin Indonesia, Jean-Charles Simon  menjelaskan, “Michelin memiliki tanggungjawab dan komitmen sosial untuk menghadirkan mobilitas yang aman dan berkelanjutan,” ucap Simon.

“Untuk program Road Safety ini, kami bekerjasama dengan Polda Metro Jaya untuk mendukung program Kepolisian dalam mengkampanyekan Keamanan Berkendara. Salah satu bentuk dukungan adalah dengan menyediakan media pengajaran dalam bentuk buku/komik tentang Road Safety.”

Michelin memfokuskan program road safety pada dua hal yaitu: pengecekan ban secara berkala (Fill Up with Air) dan edukasi untuk anak usia sekolah. Hal ini bertujuan untuk menanamkan kedisiplinan berlalu lintas sejak dini kepada anak, sehingga ke depan mereka lebih memahami tentang peraturan dan tata tertib berlalu lintas. Selain itu, anak dan remaja sering menjadi korban dalam kecelakaan. Sejak berdiri resmi di Indonesia, 3 tahun yang lalu, Michelin di Indonesia telah menggelar Kampanye Road Safety.

“Ban merupakan aspek penting dalam keselamatan berkendara di jalan raya. Dengan memahami karakter ban dan melakukan cek kondisi ban secara berkala, pengemudi dapat mengurangi risiko berkendara. Oleh karena itu Michelin akan terus melanjutkan Kampanye Road Safety ini untuk Indonesia yang lebih baik,” ujar Simon.

Sementara Direktur Lalu Lintas Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Pol Dr. Chryshnanda Dwilaksana, M.Si mengatakan, keselamatan berkendara di jalan raya dapat diwujudkan bila masyarakat sebagai pengguna jalan memahami  dan sadar terhadap tata cara berlalu lintas yang baik. “Melalui edukasi yang kontinyu dan menjangkau seluruh kalangan masyarakat,  risiko berkendara akan dapat ditekan,” tambahnya.
