Jika R nineT merepresentasikan konsep Roadster dari masa lalu, BMW Concept Roadster ini merepresentasikan langkah BMW ke masa depan.

BMW Concept Roadster dipersenjatai dengan mesin 1.170cc 2 silinder flat-twin yang bertenaga, single sided swing arm dengan shaft drive. Untuk memangkas bobotnya, BMW mengaplikasi rangka tubular yang ringan. Mesinnya diklaim mampu memproduksi tenaga hingga 125 bhp pada 7.750 rpm dan torsi maksimum 125 Nm pada 6.500 rpm.
