Larangan BBM Bersubsidi Bagi Motor : Harus Ada Transportasi Alternatif
JAKARTA.- Beberapa hari belakangan perbincangan masalah BBM bersubsidi menjadi perbincangan panas diberbagai kalangan. Pokok pembicaraannya pun beragam, mulai dari keputusan pemerintah yang tak memihak rakyat kecil sampai biaya operasional sehari-hari akan membengkak dan efek pada umur mesin motor itu sendiri.
Rencana pelarangan motor menggunakan bensin bersubsidi oleh pemerintah, karena dinilai jumlah populasi motor yang tinggi saat ini. Dari data AISI tercatat ada sekitar 53 juta unit motor saat ini. Namun yang masih beroprasi diperkirakan sebanyak 35 juta unit.
Presiden Direktur PT Yamaha Motor Kencana Indonesia (YMKI) Dyonisius Beti mengatakan bahwa pengguna motor banyak dari kalangan menengah kebawah, jadi jika hal ini diberlakukan tak menutup kemungkinan akan menambah beban hidup mereka karena peningkatan biaya transportasi.
Pada dasarnya, pihak YMKI akan mengikuti peraturan pemerinta. Jika memang rencana itu benar-benar dilakukan, YMKI jelas akan mendukung langkah pemerintah. Namun, ada baiknya pemerintah meninjau lebih jauh dampak yang akan terjadi dan siapkan transportasi alternatif bagi masyarakat.
“Masyarakat memilih motor karena dinilai lebih efisien, hemat waktu dan biaya. Transportasi umum yang ada saat ini dinilai masyarakat belum bisa memenuhi keinginan masyarakat, yakni aman, nyaman dan cepat,” kata Dyonisius di Nusa Dua, Bali.
Kendati pihak Yamaha akan mendukung peraturan pemerintah tersebut jika benar-benar dijalankan, Yamaha tak menyangkal akan adanya dampak pada sektor penjualan motor yang akan menurun. Tapi, menurut YMKI itu bukanlah masalah yang terlalu penting saat ini.
Transportasi yang aman dan nyaman, saat ini sepertinya masih jauh dari harapan masyarakat.
