Namun diakui Lorenzo, hal ini diakibatkan karena balapan yang terbagi dua akibat kecelakan fatal antara Alvaro Bautista, Randi D Puniet dan A Espargaro yang mengakibatkan marshal mengibarkan bendera merah untuk menghentikan balapan sementara.
“Ini selalu sulit saat balapan dibagi dua seperti ini dan saya pikir saya sedang tidak dalam kondisi yang cukup baik pada saat balapan kedua. Saya merasa saya sudah melakukan di balapan pertama sebelum red flag dikibarkan,” ungkap Lorenzo.
“Dani saat itu sangat kuat dan saya sudah mencoba bertahan didepan. Ketika dia melewati saya, saya coba terus untuk terus dekat dengan Dani, tapi dia lebih cepat dari saya hari itu. Dan saya akan mengambil banyak resiko untuk tetap bersamanya. Hal teraman untuk saya lakukan adalah finish di urutan kedua. Sekarang kami akan menuju Laguna dan saya sangat antusias balapan disana,” tegas pembalap yang saat ini masih memimpin klasemen sementara MotoGP 2010.
Sementra rekan satu tim Lorenzo, Valentino Rossi, tampil memukau kendati dalam kondisi yang belum 100% pulih.
Rossi yang menargetkan finish di posisi empat ternyata mampu memenuhi niatnya. Bahkan Rossi nyaris meraih podium, hanya saja Stoner lebih beruntung saat bertarung di tikungan terakhir menjelang finish.
“Saya tak mengira hal ini. Saya pikir mungkin bisa menempati urutan keempat atau kelima tapi saya pikir itu akan sanghat sulit. Pada akhirnya saya berada diurutan ke empat, tapi saya telah bertarung dengan Stoner dan itu sudah sangat dekat dengan podium, jadi balapan ini sangat fantastis setelah saya kehilangan 4 balapan sebelumnya,” ungkap Rossi.
“Saya butuh latihan lebih banyak lagi untuk benar-benar memulihkan perasaan dan semuanya terasa benar-benar oke di atas motor. Tapi saya pikir saya telah melakukan tugas dengan baik dan itu sangat bagus, lebih baik dari apa yang kami harapkan. Saya masih sedikit merasa sakit pada bahu dan terlebih pada kaki saat merubah posisi, tapi pertarungan dengan Stoner terasa sangat menyenangkan sehingga saya tak memikirkan hal itu. Sayangnya dia lebih baik dari saya di tikungan terakhir.”
