GILAMOTOR.COM, Jakarta. – Motor injeksi unggulan Yamaha, Vixion, bukan hanya dapat digunakan di jalan raya tapi lintasan balap pun Vixion bisa dipacu dan itu diaplikasikan pada tiga kali periode Yamaha Riding Academy (YRA) 2011. Hal ini dikatakan Yamaha dalam keterangan resmi yang dikeluarkan, Rabu (7/12).

YRA sendiri merupakan wadah bentukan Divisi Motorsport Yamaha Indonesia untuk pembibitan, pembinaan secara berjenjang para pembalap muda Yamaha Indonesia yang ingin berprestasi di olahraga balap motor hingga level internasional.

Tahun ini Vixion dipakai sebagai motor latihan para pembalap didikan Yamaha di YRA. Untuk pertama kalinya Vixion digunakan sejak YRA digelar di 2004. Selama tiga kali periode YRA termasuk periode ketiga yang digelar 5-8 Desember di sirkuit Kenjeran, Surabaya, keunggulan teknologi Fuel Injection (FI) Vixion turut dimanfaatkan. Sebanyak 10 Vixion digunakan di Kenjeran ditambah tiga R6.

”Vixion dipakai dalam latihan YRA untuk adaptasi pembalap pada motor berkarakter sport dan juga untuk meningkatkan skill. Khususnya di periode ketiga ini sebagai latihan untuk persiapan final Yamaha Cup Race (YCR) di Malang dan Yamaha Asean Cup Race,” jelas Manager Motorsport Yamaha Indonesia, Ari Wibisono.

Di sisi lain, M.Abidin, Assistant General Manager Technical Support Yamaha Indonesia menjelaskan, ”Vixion mudah diseting, tidak perlu banyak modifikasi, cukup adjust (diatur atau disetel) ECU (Electronic Control Unit) nya sehingga diperoleh power untuk jadi sebuah motor kompetisi. Tinggal diganti bagian muffler (knalpot) yang berkarakter racing (balap). Jadi tidak banyak yang diubah ketimbang motor dengan karburator,” ungkap Abidin.

Latihan dengan menggunakan Vixion, kata Abidin, memudahkan pembalap saat menunggangi motor besar Yamaha lainnya seperti R6 dan R1 karena dua motor itu juga mempunyai teknologi F1. ”Jadi, feeling buka tutup handle gas bisa didapatkan. Tipikal mesin Vixion dan motor-motor besar Yamaha lainnya yang dipakai buat balap sama. Hanya cc, bodi dan pengendalian power yang beda,” terang Abidin.

Lebih jauh Abidin menjelaskan, keunggulan lain Vixion untuk balap adalah frame (rangka) yang menggunakan delta box yang banyak digunakan pada motor berkarakter balap.

“Selain kokoh juga sangat menunjang saat bermanuver dan stabil. Selain FI, Vixion juga memiliki teknologi forged piston dan diasil cylinder yang merupakan teknologi balap Yamaha, sehingga makin menyempurnakan keunggulannya. Dibandingkan dengan motor dengan mesin sama sekelasnya, Vixion pun lebih unggul untuk balap,” tegasnya.
