Dua Pembalap Honda Indonesia Berpeluang Tampil di Moto3 2014

GILAMOTOR.com – Dua pembalap Honda binaan PT Astra Honda Motor (AHM) memastikan keikutsertaannya dalam seleksi pembalap wild card Moto3 setelah berhasil menorehkan prestasi gemilang di Asia Dream Cup (ADC).

Pada final ADC, pembalap muda Indonesia Gerry Salim mempertahankan dominasi tiga besarnya di antara pembalap lain sehingga secara keseluruhan seri ADC, pembalap 16 tahun asal Surabaya itu berhasil meraih posisi runner up di klasemen akhir dengan mengantongi total 187 poin. Sementara pembalap Indonesia lainnya, M Dwi Satria berhasil menempati posisi lima besar dengan total 105 poin.  Prestasi ini mengantarkan kedua pembalap Honda Indonesia mengikuti seleksi wildcard Moto3 yang dibuka untuk 6 pembalap terbaik ADC.

General Manager Marketing Planning and Analysis AHM Agustinus Indraputra mengatakan keikutsertaan AHM dalam ajang balap ADC merupakan salah satu bentuk pembinaan balap berjenjang yang terstruktur dalam mengantarkan pembalap-pembalap Tanah Air merintis prestasi di ajang balap internasional. “ADC membuka jalan pembalap Indonesia untuk bersaing menuju jenjang balap internasional. Kami berharap prestasi ini dapat menjadi modal bagi Gerry dan Dwi Satria untuk mengukir prestasi yang lebih baik di masa mendatang,” ujarnya.

Sebelum final ADC, Gerry Salim juga mampu mematahkan dominasi pembalap papan atas Asia lainnya hingga sempat menyabet podium tertinggi di salah satu seri di Autopolis International Race Course, Jepang.

Pencapaian lima besar yang ditoreh pada tahun ini semakin mengukuhkan prestasi pembalap Indonesia di ajang bergengsi ADC. Tahun lalu, pembalap Indonesia lainnya, Denny Triyugo, selalu berada di jajaran depan dalam kejuaraan dan masuk 4 besar di total klasemen akhir.
