Selangkah Lagi Honda Kuasai Segmen Sport

GILAMOTOR.com – PT. Astra Honda Motor (AHM) terus berusaha mengambil alih dominasi Yamaha di segmen motor sport. Pasalnya, hanya segmen itu yang belum dikuasai Honda.

Bersama V-Ixion, Yamaha terus mendominasi segmen motor sport. Dan tahun 2014, Yamaha akan memperkuat segmen itu dengan beberapa model baru seperti YZF-R15 dan R25 (sport 250cc).

“Sebenarnya Honda juga aware dengan segmen motor sport,” ucap Marketing Director AHM, Margono Tanuwijaya di Pulau Umang, Banten (13/12).

Tahun 2013, dua motor sport Honda CB150R StreetFire dan Verza hadir di pasar Indonesia. Kedua model sport 150cc itu berhasil mengkatrol penjualan motor sport Honda dan naik ke posisi dua setelah tahun lalu masih berada di posisi tiga di pasar Indonesia. Itu artinya, selangkah lagi Honda akan kuasai semua segmen pasar motor di Tanah Air.

“Tahun 2013 ada dua model baru, CB150R StreetFire dan Verza. Dengan CB150R dan Verza, sport kita bisa ke posisi dua setelah tahun lalu kita ada di posisi tiga,” jelas Margono.

“Dulu Honda kuasai 20 persen, sekarang sudah 36 persen. Walau masih di posisi dua.”

Margono mengakui kalau pergerakan pertumbuhan pasar di segmen sport di luar ekspektasi Honda. Sehingga dua model baru dan kapasitas produksi yang ada saat ini masih belum memenuhi permintaan pasar.

“Pertumbuhan pasar motor sport di luar ekspektasi. Sehingga dengan dua produk baru dan kapasitas produksi yang ada belum bisa memenuhi permintaan pasar motor sport,” papar Margono.

“Kami tahu dari dulu kompetitor menang agresif. Tak hanya di segmen sport, di segmen matik pun dia (Yamaha) agresif. Begitulah kompetisi.”

Meski fokus menggarap pasar motor sport, tapi ditegaskan Margono bahwa fokus utama Honda ada di segmen mengengah ke bawah, segmen skutik dan bebek. “Segmen middle-low yang terbesar di industri motor Tanah Air,” tegas Margono.
