Dikatakan Yamaha, motor sport 150cc full fairing ini diproduksi di Indonesia dengan total kandungan komponen lokalnya mencapai lebih dari 90 persen. Dyonisius Beti Executive Vice President YIMM mengaskan kalau komponen impor pada R15 hanya ada pada lengan ayun alumunium dan perangkat elektroniknya. Selebihnya merupakan produksi dalam negeri.

“Motor ini diproduksi di Indonesia dan akan diimpor ke negara-neraga Asean. Kandungan lokalnya sekitar 90 persen, hanya aluminium swing arm dan elektroniknya yang masih impor,” kata Dyon di sela-sela peluncuran R15 di Jakarta.

Di kesempatan yang sama, M Abidin GM Service and Motorsport YIMM mengatakan kalau R15 ini punya kandungan lokal lebih dari 90 persen. Bahkan Abidin menegaskan kalau motor ini murni produksi Indonesia karena komponen yang dimpor tetap harus menjalani proses finishing di Indonesia.

“Komponen lokal nya lebih dari 90 persen karen final finishing nya di Indonesia. Contoh lengan ayun, tak langsung kita pasang di R15 tapi kita finishing lagi, kita cat lagi,” jelas Abidin.

Selain itu, Abidin juga memaparkan kalau komponen elektronik nya memang ada yang diimpor, tapi hanya microposessor nya saja yang diimpor dari Jepang. Namun untuk perakitan secara keseluruhan tetap di Indonesia.

“Selebihnya, komponen elektroniknya diproduksi oleh anak perusahan Yamaha Indonesia Electronic Distribution (YIED) di Cibitung, Jawa Barat.”

Dengan kata lain, YZF-R15 ini adalah tulen diproduksi di Indonesia dengan kualitas yang tentunya siap memenuhi permintaan pasar motor di negara-negara Asean. Yamaha membandrol R15 dengan harga Rp 28 juta on the road Jakarta.
