GILAMOTOR.com – Jelang mudik 2014, Indonesia Bikers Club (IBC) mengadakan diskusi bertajuk Mudik Selamat, Meredam Petaka Jalan Raya. Acara dihelat di hotel Blue Sky Slipi Jakarta Pusat akhir pekan kemarin.
Hadir sebagai pembicara Bambang Susanto Wakil Menteri Perhubungan Republik Indonesia, Gunawan Sinduwinata Ketua Umum Asosiasi Industri Sepeda Motor Indonesia (AISI), dan Edo Rusyanto, Ketua Umum Road Safety Association (RSA).
Mudik lebaran merupakan suatu tradisi yang sudah turun temurun dilakukan di Indonesia. Namun Indonesia bukan salah satunya negara yang punya tradisi mudik. Di China contohnya, masyarakatnya melakukan mudik pada saat Imlek atau tahun baru China. Di negara barat seperti di Amerika juga ada tradisi mudik di saat Thanksgiving atau hari kasih sayang.
Menurut data Korlantas, selama mudik lebaran tahun 2013 setidaknya ada 50 jiwa tewas di jalan setiap hari. Jumlah ini turun 12% dari tahun 2012 dengan 57 korban jiwa. Pengendara sepeda motor menjadi penyumbang terbesar yaitu sekitar 71% di tahun 2013 atau 163 kasus kecelakaan setiap hari dengan korban tewas dari pegendara sepeda motor mencapai 21 korban jiwa per hari.
“Kami mengajak pemudik lebih waspada. Ada 5 aspek utama dalam mengatasi permasalahan dalam mudik,” ujar Wakil Menteri Perhubungan Bambang Susantono, di sela-sela diskusi ‘Mudik Selamat, Meredam Petaka Jalan Raya.
Kelima aspek itu, lanjutnya, mencakup keamanan, keselamatan, keterjangkauan, dan kultural. Dua aspek di antaranya, yakni keamanan dan keselamatan merupakan faktor vital yang wajib diwaspadai ketika mudik.
“Secara umum, upaya-upaya yang telah dilakukan untuk menekan kecelakaan antara lain penerapan sepeda motor di jalur lambat, pembuatan jalur khusus sepeda motor, ruang henti khusus sepeda motor,†kata dia.
Wakil menteri juga selalu mewanti-wanti kepada para pemudik terutama pengguna sepeda motor agar tidak lupa untuk beristirahat. “Please, please, please.. Untuk pengguna motor jangan lupa untuk beristirahat, agar tubuh tetap dalam kondisi prima,†ucapnya berkali-kali mengingatkan.
Sementara itu, Gunadi Sindhuwinata mengatakan bahwa pilihan menggunakan sepeda motor saat mudik karena sepeda motor merupakan kendaraan yang murah, selain itu sepeda motor bisa digunakan sebagai alat transportasi dan hadiah di kampung halaman.
“Sebagian masyarakat juga menjadikan motor sebagai hadiah bagi keluarga di kampung,†ujar Gunadi
Dan Edo Rusyanto menyatakan bahwa selama 16 Hari masa mudik yakni H-7, H1, H2, dan H+7 tahun 2013, angka kasus kecelakaan lalulintas jalan menurun 31% dari rata-rata kecelakaan sepanjang tahun tiap harinya.
Korban meninggal pun turun 16% yang artinya jika setiap hari ada 72 korban meninggal, maka selama masa lebaran hanya sekitar 50 korban meninggal.
Tingginya angka korban meninggal dari para pengguna sepeda motor membuat pemerintah setidaknya harus mengeluarkan dana sekitar 38 milyar hanya untuk mengangkut sepeda motor ketempat tujuan selama masa mudik lebaran.
