Jusri Pulubuhu: 30 Tahun Geluti Dunia Safety Riding

GILAMOTOR.com – Pria yang sudah tak lagi muda ini cukup dikenal oleh kalangan pehobi otomotif. Kini pemilik nama Jusri Pulubuhu ini lebih dikenal sebagai pakar dan penggiat safety driving dan safety riding.

Di bawah bendera perusahaannya Jakarta Defensive Driving Consultant [JDDC], Jusri berseta timnya berusaha menyebarkan virus berkendara aman dan selamat melalui teori dan praktek yang mampu mengubah paradigma orang soal berkendara.

Pria berdarah Gorontalo ini mulai melatih mobil dan motor dari tahun 1984 di bilangan Ancol. Pada waktu itu, ia tergabung dalam klub motor bernama Aswin Safety Driving Club. Lantas pada tahun 1991, pria yang hobby touring ini membentuk JDDC (Jakarta Defensive Driving Counsultant).

Seiring kebutuhan perusahaan dalam menekan angka kecelakaan yang melibatkan karyawannya baik di dalam maupun di luar lingkungan perusahaan, JDDC pun terbentuk. Dan di era itu, JDDC menjadi pelopor untuk safety riding.

“JDDC menjadi pelopor di bidang safety riding perusahaan, yang lain baru muncul setelah tahun 2000-an,” ungkap pria berusia 54 tahun ini.

30 tahun sudah pria lulusan Amerika ini menggeluti dunia safety driving dan safety riding yang penuh suka dan duka.

“Safety driving dan safety riding adalah kebutuhan dan life skill kita, karena kita tiap hari berada di jalan. Dibutuhkan skill mumpuni untuk berkendara dengan benar dan aman,” ucap pria yang sehari-hari menggunakan Vespa S ini.

Pria dengan sederet motor koleksi di rumahnya ini pernah melakukan touring yang cukup nekat saat dia berusia 15 tahun dengan menggunakan Yamaha DT lansiran 1975 100cc. Dia melakukan touring dari Kupang ke Atambua, perbatasan Timor-Timur dengan menempuh perjalanan selama 10 hari.

Jusri Touring bersama kawan yang usianya jauh lebih tua dan rata-rata sudah bekerja. Gilanya, saat itu situasinya sedang gawat karena konfrontasi.
