MotoGP 2013 : Jelang Sesi Latihan, M1 Rossi dan Lorenzo Dibongkar

GILAMOTOR.com. – Kebakaran yang terjadi di pit tim Yamaha Tech 3 juga berdampak pada tim pabrikan Yamaha. Motor tunggangan Lorenzo dan Rossi basah kuyup dan berlapis bubuk putih pemadam api yang keluar secara otomatis dari sistem anti kebakaran.

“Awalnya kami pikir kondisinya benar-benar buruk, tapi untungnya tidak seburuk yang kami pikirkan,” ucap Massimo Meregalli, bos tim Yamaha. “Sekang kami harus membongkar motor-motor itu dan mengeringkannya, membersihkannya dan membangun kembali. Tentunya itu bisa saja jauh lebih buruk.”

“Kami belum tahu penyebabnya, tapi mungkin berasal dari baterai engine starter elektrik di garasi Tech 3. Sistem anti kebaran otomatis menyala dan hasilnya pit kami penuh air dan bubuk putih pemadam kebakaran di mana-mana. Yang terpenting tidak ada yang terluka dalam insiden ini.

“Kebakaran terjadi sekitar jam 1 pagi dan kami diberitahu oleh IRTA pada jam 6 pagi. Sekarang kami sedang dalam proses bersih-bersih. Kami mengucapkan terimakasih banyak kepada staff sirkuit yang telah banyak membantu.”

Sama seperti tim pabrikan Yamaha, tim LCR Honda dan Cardion AB juga sedang sibuk membersihkan semuanya di garasinya. Karena sistem anti kebaran juga aktif di garasi mereka.

Sementara itu Lin Jarvis bos Yamaha Racing, mengakui bahwa mereka telah diselamatkan oleh sistem pemadam kebakaran otomatis di sirkuit itu. “Jika kami tak berada di sini di fasilitas sebagus ini, kami pasti sudah kehilangan 6 motor,” ucap Jarvis.

Meski motor tak terbakar, tapi air dari sistem pemadam kebakaran otomatis berpeluang merusak sistem elektronik dan komputer. “Masalahnya kita tidak bisa mengantisipasi dampak dari kondisi itu. Kami perlu memastikan bahwa semuanya sudah kering, termasuk masalah korosi. Kalau masalah komponen mekanik, itu masalah mudah karena bisa terlihat. Tapi komponen elektronik tidak. Jadi butuh banyak pengetesan.”
