Main Dealer Honda Buat Sekolah Percontohan Safety Riding

GILAMOTOR.com – PT Wahana Makmur Sejati (WMS), Main Dealer Honda wilayah Jakarta-Tangerang menunjuk salah satu sekolah SMK di Jakarta sebagai pilot project Sekolah Percontohan Safety Riding. SMK 53 yang beralamat di Jalan Flamboyan No. 53 Cengkareng Barat terpilih untuk mewakili seluruh SMA/SMK Jakarta-Tangerang.

Terpilihnya SMK 53 sebagai Duta Safety Riding untuk sekolah SMK/SMA karena sekolah tersebut pernah memenangkan Regional Kontes Aktivitas Safety Riding tahun 2011. ”Kami memilih SMK karena di umur tersebut, mereka sudah mulai aktif menggunakan sepeda motor, yang padahal mereka belum boleh mengendarainya, makanya kami ajarkan safety riding agar mereka mulai tertib berkendara walau belum mempunyai SIM”, jelas Safety Riding Promotion Dept.Head PT WMS Tony Purnama. Tony menjelaskan lebih lanjut WMS akan membuatkan juga sekolah percontohan safety riding untuk TK, SD dan SMP.

Dalam pelaksanaan proyek percontohan sekolah safety riding tersebut, WMS akan membuatkan rambu-rambu lalu lintas di sekolah tersebut. Selain itu, WMS akan membuatkan juga zebra cross, marka jalan dan papan slogan yang berisi himbauan dan tata cara safety riding serta majalah dinding untuk kegiatan safety riding yang sudah mereka lakukan dan info safety riding lainnya. Semua itu dilakukan untuk mengasah mereka agar tertib safety riding sejak dini, dimulai dari lingkungan sekolah.

Kegiatan tersebut terwujud atas kerjasama WMS dengan Polda Metro Jaya yang sama-sama mempunyai mimpi untuk mewujudkan safety riding di antara para pengendara.

Selama ini, PT WMS sudah banyak melakukan seminar dan pelatihan safety riding ke sekolah, dari TK hingga SMA/SMK, perusahaan, instansi pemerintah, komunitas sepeda motor, dan universitas yang dilakukan tanpa memungut bayaran. Hingga November 2013, tercatat sudah 78 kali PT WMS melakukan seminar dan pelatihan safety riding.
