Kawasaki Resmikan Pabrik Baru Berkapasitas 150.000 Unit Per Tahun

GILAMOTOR.com – Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Ltd meresmikan pabrik barunya yang kedua di Kawasan Industri MM2100 Cikarang Barat, Bekasi (8/04).

Bangunan seluas 44.000 M2 itu berdiri di atas lahan 150.000 M2 dan beroperasi sebagai pabrik motor Kawasaki terbesar ketiga setelah Jepang dan Thailand.

Peresmian pabrik baru itu dihadiri President dan CEO Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Shigeru Murayama, Menteri Perindustrian RI MS. Hidayat, Menteri Perdagangan RI Muhammad Luthfi dan Bupati Bekasi dr. Hj Neneng Hasanah.

Dikatakan Shigeru Murayama, Kawasaki juga sudah membangun pabrik pemurnian Forronickel di Indonesia. “Di Indonesia kami telah membangun juga pabrik pemurnian Ferronickel dan membuat system supply energy seperti turbin gas dan boiler berbahan bakar batubara,” paparnya.

Sementara President Director PT Kawasaki Motor Indonesia (KMI) Yoshihiro Tanigawa mengatakan, sejak hadir di Indonesia tahun 1994, tahun ini akan menjadi lompatan yang besar untuk KMI karena membuka pabrik baru.

“Dengan pabrik baru ini kita akan melompat ke level baru yang selanjutnya, sesuai tagline acara kita hari ini, Jumping To The New Stage,” yakin Tanigawa.

Lebih lanjut Tanigawa mengatakan, pabrik ini memiliki kapasitas produksi 150.000 unit sepanjang tahun dengan tenaga kerja mencapai 1.600 orang untuk mengakomodir permintaan pasar dari pengguna motor kelas premium di Indonesia yang naik seiring meningkatnya pendapatan kelas menengah di Indonesia.

“Pertumbuhan penjualan Kawasaki telah mendorong kebutuhan untuk membangun pabrik baru dengan kapasitas yang lebih besar,” tegasnya.
