MotoGP 2012 : Selamat Tinggal Dovizioso dan Simoncelli

GILAMOTOR.com. – Bos Honda Racing, Shuhei Nakamoto mengatakan bahwa tahun depan tim Honda tidak mungkin bekerja dengan tiga pebalap. Kemungkinan besar pebalap asal Italia, Andrea Dovizioso dan bahkan Simoncelli akan kehilangan dukungan resmi mereka.

Honda memutuskan untuk menjalankan tiga motornya tahun ini setelah Casey Stoner bergabung bersama Dani Pedrosa dan Dovizioso.

Simoncelli memang berada di tim yang berbeda dengan Stoner, Dovi dan Pedrosa yaitu di tim satelit San Carlo Gresini, namun musim balap 2011 ini Simoncelli menggunakan mesin yang sama seperti yang digunakan ketiga pebalap utama Honda.

Langkah ini diambil Honda karena musim balap 2012 mendatang akan ada pemangkasan anggaran. Nakamoto mengatakan anggaran Honda akan dikurangi tahun depan, dan dari yang ada sekarang, ia percaya hanya Stoner dan Pedrosa akan tetap mendapatkan dukungan pada musim 2012.

“Ini adalah masa-masa sulit, krisis ekonomi masih jauh dari selesai,” dikatan Nakamoto seperti dikutip oleh majalah Motosprint.

“Di atas itu, Jepang memiliki beberapa masalah besar karena bencana yang terjadi musim semi lalu. Semua sektor industri kami telah memperlambat produksi sebesar 30 persen, dan Honda tidak kebal dari itu. Jadi kami harus memotong biaya juga.”

“Jika saya dipaksa untuk membuat pengumuman hari ini berkaitan dengan pebalap kami tahun 2012, saya hanya bisa berbicara tentang kerja sama tim karena hanya Stoner dan Pedrosa dengan kontrak untuk musim depan. Jadi saya harus mengucapkan selamat tinggal untuk kedua bepalap Honda, Simoncelli dan Dovizioso.”

“Saya sudah meminta keduanya untuk menunggu dan bersabar, kami berusaha untuk memecahkan situasi yang pada dasarnya terkait dengan masalah uang anggaran tersebut yang akan dipotong, tapi saya belum tahu berapa besar. Pada pertengahan Agustus segalanya harus jelas,” tegas Nakamoto.
