GILAMOTOR.com, Jakarta – PT Astra Honda Motor (AHM) mulai menggelar kembali Honda Racing School (HRS) untuk menyiapkan pebalap masa depan Honda dari Indonesia yang berprestasi di tingkat nasional maupun international.
Program HRS yang memasuki tahun ketiga ini sudah terkoneksi dengan Suzuka Racing School Jepang yang menjadi tempat pembinaan balap berikutnya. Pada tahap awal, AHM melakukan rekrutmen siswa melalui beberapa cara antara lain merekrut pebalap muda berbakat di ajang OMR dan Kejurnas, menyeleksi calon pembalap usulan Main Dealer dan tim balap lain yang disupport AHM.
Setelah melakukan seleksi dan penilaian, AHM akhirnya hanya memilih 11 anak berbakat berusia di bawah 15 tahun dari berbagai kota di Indonesia untuk dilatih dalam HRS ini.
Agustinus Indraputra, General Manager Marketing Planning and Analysis Division AHM mengatakan di beberapa negara seperti Spanyol dan Jepang, Honda memiliki sekolah balap khusus. HRS di Indonesia ini diharapkan bisa menjadi sarana pendidikan dan praktik bagi pebalap belia di Tanah Air.
“Kami ingin HRS Indonesia bukan sekedar tempat penyalur hobi tapi akan menjadi kawah candradimuka bagi pebalap Honda di masa depan,†ujarnya.
Selama di HRS, para pebalap muda Honda mendapatkan materi class lesson dan praktek mulai dari cornering, racing line, dan lap time practice. Hasilnya dianalisa dalam riding review. Setelah itu, mereka akan kembali melakukan lap time practice lagi sebelum akhirnya hasil pengetahuan dan eveluasinya akan dipraktekan dalam mini race.
Pada HRS 2012, para siswa tidak hanya mendapatkan dasar-dasar balap secara umum, tapi juga dasar pengetahuan balap nasional sehingga mereka akan lebih fokus pada kondisi riil balap di Indonesia, seperti mempelajari pola, karakter sirkuit dan gaya balap yang ada di level nasional.
Selama proses latihan yang mempergunakan sepeda motor Honda Blade, mereka akan didampingi oleh dua instruktur yang berpengalaman yaitu Hokky Krisdianto dan Dedi Fermadi. Keduanya merupakan pembalap nasional handal untuk jenis motor bebek yang beberapa kali menjadi juara nasional. Berbekal pengalaman, keduanya diharapkan tidak hanya dapat mentransfer dasar pengetahuan balap kepada para siswa tapi juga mengajarkan keterampilan balap yang sesuai dengan suasana pertandingan di ajang kejuaran balap nasional.
