GILAMOTOR.com. – Jeffrey Polnaja mengaku sangat puas dan terpesona setelah mengekplorasi panorama dan budaya serta keindahan Jepang. Sekitar 3.000 km penjelejahannya di Negeri Sakura itu dilalui penjelajah seorang diri dengan motor besar tanpa kendala berarti.
Lelaki yang akrab disapa Kang JJ itu kini telah berada di Busan, Korea Selatan.
“Bersyukur saya bisa menyelesaikan salah satu etape terpenting dalam penjelajahan Ride for Peace kedua, yaitu Jepang. Banyak bikers dunia yang bermimpi riding di Jepang, terutama di pulau Hokkaido, dan saya sudah meraihnya. Pengalaman ini akan menjadi kenangan manis bagi hidup saya,” ungkap Jeffrey.
Jeffrey menggelindingkan roda BMW R1150GS bernopol B 5010 JP ke Jepang usai menaklukkan kawasan liar Siberia di Rusia. Menggunakan angkutan penyeberangan laut dari Sakhalin, Rusia, Jeffrey mendarat di pelabuhan Wakkanai, Hokkaido, di utara Jepang pada 31 Agustus 2012. Dari situ, selama dua pekan, penjelajah kelahiran Bandung, Jawa Barat, ini menjelajah hingga daerah Shimonosheki di selatan Jepang.
“Jelas Jepang telah meninggalkan kesan baik di mata saya. Masyarakat Jepang sungguh ramah. Mereka dengan ringan tangan siap membantu siapapun yang membutuhkan,” kenang Jeffrey.
“Menurut saya masyarakat Indonesia hari ini perlu belajar dari kedisiplinan dan sikap tenggang rasa penduduk Jepang. Dulu masyarakat kita terkenal ramah, namun belakangan ini kesan itu terasa jauh,” lanjutnya.
Jeffrey mencontohkan tentang budaya masyarakat di Jepang yang tertib dan disipling dalam berlalu lintas. “Jangankan Indonesia, Eropa saja pantas belajar dari cara orang-orang Jepang berlalu lintas. Saya yang menunggang sepeda motor merasa diperhatikan oleh setiap pengguna mobil, bus dan truk. Saya diberikan jalan ketika mereka melihat ada saya di belakang,” tutur Jeffrey.
Ketika berada di Jepang Jeffrey ditemani seorang penjelajah lokal bernama Shoichi Saga yang ditemuinya di Siberia. Bersama Saga, Jeffrey dikenalkan banyak sisi menarik dari Jepang yang tak banyak diketahui wisatawan. Salah satunya adalah pemandian air panas Komanoyu atau Bear Hot Spring yang terdapat di daerah Hokkaido.
Menurut Saga, kawasan tempat Komanoyu merupakan alam bebas yang dihuni beragam satwa liar. Dia mengatakan, tak jarang orang bisa melihat beruang di sekitar Komanoyu.  Karena itu, tempat ini disebut Pemandian Air Panas Beruang. Tak hanya itu, dari tempat ini pula Jeffrey bisa menyaksikan betapa indahnya panorama pegunungan Komagatake dan Hakkai.
Jeffrey yang membawa bendera Ride for Peace juga berkesempatan merasakan bermalam di tengah hutan di sebuah rumah di daerah Gunma. Minoru Kishada, pemilik rumah yang merupakan pasangan suami istri dengan dua anak menjamu Jeffrey layaknya orang yang telah lama dikenal.
Tempat-tempat lain yang dikunjungi Jeffrey selama pengembaraannya di Jepang adalah melewati Gunung Fuji serta berziarah ke Ground Zero di kota Hiroshima yang luluh lantak karena bom atom.
“Di Hiroshima kita bisa merasakan betapa kejamnya perang. Hiroshima tak hanya membutuhkan waktu puluhan tahun untuk membangun ulang kotanya. Menghapus trauma perang dari ingatan masyarakat bukanlah pekerjaan mudah. Pengalaman di Hiroshima ini semakin menambah motivasi saya dalam mengibarkan bendera Ride for Peace di seantero jagad,” ucap Jeffrey.
Pengalaman istimewa lain yang diterima Jeffrey saat menjelajah di Jepang adalah memenuhi undangan Festival Indonesia 2012 yang diselenggarakan Kedutaan Besar Indonesia di Tokyo pada 8-9 September 2012. Menempati kawasan terbuka di depan hotel mewah Ritz Carlton di Tokyo Midtown, Roppongi, Jeffrey juga sempat bertemu kelompok musik asal Tanah Air, Band Kotak dan Soul Id, di acara tersebut. Dalam lawatananya di Tokyo itu pula Jeffrey berkesempatan melakukan presentasi di tengah siswa-siwi Sekolah Republik Indonesia Tokyo (SRIT) dan para pemuda Indonesia yang magang kerja di Jepang.
