Piaggio Akan Jual Sport 250 cc, Segmen Cakep Untuk Pasar Asia

GILAMOTOR.com. – Buat pasar asia, mesin 250 cc jadi mesin paling top-markotop untuk kelas mid-size engine. Jualannya bisa dibilang fantastis meski nggak se-spektakuler jualan sport 150 cc atau mesin 100 cc – 200 cc. Saat ini, India jadi negara paling diincar pabrikan untuk memasarkan produknya.

Setelah tahun lalu Triumph dikabarkan akan memasarkan sport 250 cc di India, sekarang pabrikan scooter asal Italia, Piaggio, berencana meluncurkan motor sport 250 cc di India tahun 2014 nanti. Hmm… Kalau dilihat, Piaggio punya senjata ampuh di segmen motor sport  lewat brand Aprilia. Lihat saja Aprilia Tuono dan RSV4 yang meraih banyak penghargaan. Ada kemungkinan Aprilia akan menggunakan motor RS4 125 yang di-bore up atau menggabungkan mesin 125 cc tersebut menjadi dua silinder 250 cc. Hal ini dirasa tepat jika melihat kesuksesan varian  KTM Duke 200 yang berasal dari Duke 125. Piaggio kelihatannya pingen untung juga nih.. Hehehe.

Untuk memangkas biaya produksi, Motor 250 cc Piaggio bisa menggunakan mesin dengan silinder tunggal 4-katup berpendingin cairan dengan injection sebagai pemasok bahan bakar yang kemungkinan akan punya tenaga di kisaran 25-30 BHP. Sasis sendiri kemungkinan akan menggunakan rangka kotak kaya motor-motor India, macam Yamaha YZF-R15, Honda CBR dan Bajaj Pulsar 200 NS. Untuk suspensi sepertinya akan pakai USD untuk depan dan monoshock di belakang. Rangka Perimeter dipilih karena karakteristik handling yang mudah dikendalikan dan jadi favorit pabrikan pembuat motor.

Replika motor RS4 (RS250) akan mengikuti kesuksesan desain motor Aprilia RSV4. Motor ini akan punya fokus di tampilan dengan aerodinamika seperti motor sport Aprilia dengan kapasitas yang lebih besar. Dan yang sepertinya nggak akan terlewatkan, akan hadir dengan warna khas yaitu merah dan hitam.
