Bangun Pabrik Baru, AHM Siap Produksi 5.3 Juta Unit Motor Honda Per Tahun

GILAMOTOR.com – PT Astra Honda Motor (AHM) memulai pembangunan pabrik keempatnya dengan melakukan peletakan batu pertama di area seluas 84 hektare di Kawasan Industri Indotaisei, Kota Bukit Indah, Karawang, Jawa Barat (17/5).

Pabrik baru AHM ini akan mulai beroperasi pada semester kedua tahun 2014 dengan kapasitas produksi 1.1 juta unit pertahun. Pabrik AHM ini melengkapi tiga pabrik motor Honda yang sudah ada sebelumnya di Sunter, Pegangsaan, dan Cikarang. Dengan demikian, secara total kapasitas produksi sepeda motor Honda di Indonesia akan mencapai 5,3 juta unit per tahun.

Untuk pembangunan pabrik baru ini, AHM yang merupakan perusahaan joint venture  PT Astra International Tbk dan Honda Motor Co. dengan komposisi saham 50%:50%, telah menanamkan modal sebesar Rp3,3 triliun.

President Director AHM Toshiyuki Inuma menyatakan pabrik baru AHM ini akan mengimplementasikan konsep green company dengan menggunakan bahan baku ramah lingkungan dan mulai memanfaatkan sumber daya alam seperti pembangkit listrik tenaga angin dan pembangkit listrik tenaga surya. Pabrik baru ini akan menjadi fasilitas produksi yang nyaman bagi tenaga kerja, serta ramah lingkungan bagi masyarakat sekitar.

“Melalui pabrik baru ini, kami berkomitmen untuk menyuplai produk berkualitas terbaik dengan teknologi canggih, harga terjangkau, dan ramah lingkungan, sesuai dengan kebutuhan konsumen,” ujarnya.

Executive Vice President Director AHM Johannes Loman mengatakan pembangunan pabrik baru ini merupakan salah satu komitmen perusahaan untuk dapat terus memberikan nilai tambah bagi industri sepeda motor di Tanah Air sekaligus untuk mengantisipasi permintaan pasar sepeda motor yang tumbuh pesat di masa mendatang.
