HYmotion3 Compressor concept dipersenjatai dengan motor listrik 3kW yang terpasang pada kedua roda depan. Baterai kedua motor listrik nya akan terisi saat terjadi perlambatan atau pengereman. Selain itu, skuter ini juga dipersenjatai mesin bensin berkapasitas 125cc yang dilengkapi dengan turbocharge untuk menggerakan roda belakang.
Bicara masalah kemampuan lari skuter ini, Peugeot menjelaskan bahwa akselerasinya dari keadaan diam hingga 100 km/jam dapat ditempuh dalam waktu 11.2 detik. Sementara kecepatan puncaknya mempu menembus 110 km/jam.
Memang larinya tak secepat motor kebanyakan, tapi angka yang tercatat dari akselerasi dan kecepatan puncaknya cukup mengindikasikan bahwa skuter ini memiliki cukup performa untuk berkendara dalam kota.
Sementara untuk Peugeot HYmotion3 Evolution telah menggendong mesin yang lebih besar mencapai 300 cc. Mesin ini mempu menyemburkan tenaga hingga 41 dk. Sementara roda depan yang digerakan motor bertenaga baterai lithium-ion memiliki power lebih rendah untuk menjaga stabilitas pengendalian, yakni sebesar 8.2 dk.
Sistem pengeremannya kini semakin canggih, gaya deselerasi akibat pengereman di ketiga roda dimanfaatkan lewat cara menambah setrum di baterai penggerak roda depan. Teknik ini menjadikan jarak pengereman berkurang hingga 30% dibanding dengan sistem pengereman dua roda.
Skuter ini dapat dioperasikan hanya dengan menggunakan mode elektrik atau mesin bensin saja dan bisa juga mengkombinasikan keduanya. Peugeot mengklaim bahwa skuter ini merupakan skuter yang sangat canggih dan penuh dengan teknologi tinggi, ramah lingkungan dan tak akan membosankan.
Sementara itu, dalam waktu dekat pabrikan Honda akan memperkenalkan sosok motor tiga roda 3R-C konsep pada ajang Geneva Motor Show minggu depan. Motor tiga roda 3R-C milik Honda ini didisain oleh disaner asal eropa yang bekerja untuk Honda reserch and design facility di Milan.
