Bersama KTM, Bajaj Siapkan Motor Berplatform Baru

GILAMOTOR.com, Mumbai. – Bekerjasama dengan  pabrikan motor asal Austria, KTM, Bajaj Auto kini tengah bersiap menghadirkan produk Pulsar dan Discover terbaru yang diproyeksikan sebagai penghalang laju Honda dan Yamaha. Dikabarkan, Pulsar dan Discover terbaru nantinya akan mengusung platform baru yang mengambil basis dari motor KTM.

Dikatakan Bajaj, bahwa dalam waktu dekat akan ada produk Bajaj yang akan dihentikan produksinya. “Setelah peluncuran Pulsar dan Discover terbaru itu, akan ada model yang diganti atau bahkan dihentikan produksinya,” tutur Rajiv Bajaj, Managing Director Bajaj Auto, di sela-sela peluncuran Bajaj Discover 125 cc DTS-I di Mumbai, pekan lalu.

Seperti dilansir dnaindia.com, Bajaj menyatakan dua varian baru tersebut rencananya akan berada di pasar global pada paruh kedua tahun fiskal Maret 2011 – April 2012.

Beberapa kabar juga menyebutkan bahwa Bajaj tengah merencanakan untuk menghadirkan Pulsar bermesin 250 cc, empat katup berpendingin cairan. Tak cukup sampai di situ, Bajaj juga dikabarkan akan menghadirkan mesin berkapasitas 400 cc.

Jika itu terjadi, maka Honda dan Yamaha harus bersiap diri menghadapi gempuran motor India yang selalu menawarkan harga jual yang lebih murah.

Dikatakan Bajaj, reputasi KTM dalam penetrasi pasar di Brasilia, Malaysia dan Thailand sebagai negara potensial pasar motor, merupakan salah satu yang menjadi pertimbangan untuk bergabung dengan KTM.

“Di pasar itu merek seperti Honda dan Yamaha sudah mendominasi. KTM akan membawa kami ke pasar yang telah mapan itu, “kata Rajiv.

Dijadwalkan, motor terbaru itu akan hadir pada akhir tahun 2011 mendatang. Apakah motor itu sebagai Duke 200 atau Duke 125, Bajaj belum mengambil keputusan.
